As our Fall cows wrapped up calving, we turned to the Spring herd and weaning. We use the same maternal criteria for the spring herd as we do for the fall cows and continue to be happy with the results: Bulls averaged 799 pounds and the heifers averaged 676 pounds with no creep. Sires represented in the spring calves include HF Hi-Country and Barrett Real Deal, using foundation donors like Barrett Miss 656 2526 BAR and Barrett Miss 016 754 RF. One of our newest donors is SR South Blossom 3199, from Spickler Ranch South, calved with a Barrett Real Deal heifer and is showing she’ll be a great addition to the herd.
